Speaking4Him Podcast #726: Front of the Class (2008)

“What’s a school for? To educate, isn’t it? To use knowledge to wipe out ignorance?”

 -Principal Myer

imdb.com

On today's show, I share a heartfelt review of "Front of the Class" (2008), the inspiring Hallmark Hall of Fame film based on the true story of Brad Cohen. Born with Tourette’s syndrome, Brad faces misunderstanding, rejection, and countless obstacles, but he refuses to let any of them define him. The movie follows his journey from a struggling child to a determined adult who believes he was born to teach.

Jimmy Wolk delivers a powerful performance as Brad, capturing both the pain of his challenges and the joy of his triumphs, while Treat Williams and Patricia Heaton bring depth and warmth as Brad’s supportive parents.

Listen Here as I discuss how this film raises topics that need to be addressed more often. I resonate deeply with this story because I have also struggled to overcome the stigma associated with my disability, cerebral palsy. My hope is that this film will help you and your family gain a greater understanding of what it means to live with a disability and highlight how we are more alike than different.

You can watch this film for free right now on Youtube or Tubi!

Speaking4Him Podcast #724: Speaking The Truth in Love Part 4

“Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.

And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.”

John 17:17-19

Today on the show, I continue my series *Speaking the Truth in Love*, drawn from Focus on the Family’s video conversations featuring Rosaria Butterfield and Jim Daly. I discuss the fact that God’s Word is the source of truth and the means by which He sets His people apart. As Jesus was sent into the world, He sends us as well, calling us to love others with a truth‑filled compassion that reflects His heart.

In this episode, I highlight three key exchanges the world makes for truth: God vs. Self, Truth vs. Lies, and  Natural vs. Unnatural. Through Proverbs 16, 1 John 1, and Romans 1, we see how God’s Word challenges our pride, exposes falsehood, and clarifies God’s design for human life and relationships. These passages encourage believers to walk in the light, confess sin honestly, and trust God’s direction.

Listen Here and embrace biblical truth not as a burden but as a loving gift meant to guide, protect, and transform.

Speaking4Him Podcast #723: The Chosen: Season 4, Episode 5: Sitting, Serving, Scheming

“What grieves me, is the very human feeling that no one understands this through no fault of their own.”

Jesus, The Chosen

In today’s episode of the Speaking4Him Podcast, I share my thoughts on The Chosen Season 4 Episode 5: “Sitting, Serving, Scheming.” This episode offers a powerful look at three very different responses to Jesus — each one challenging us to examine our own hearts.

1. The Power of Serving Beyond Expectations

We see characters who are challenged by Jesus to go the extra mile in service, not out of obligation, but out of love. Their actions remind us that true service flows from a heart transformed by Christ. When we serve others sacrificially, we reflect His character in a world that desperately needs it.

2. Mary & Martha: Giving Jesus Your Heart

The familiar story of Mary and Martha is portrayed with fresh emotional depth. Martha’s busyness and Mary’s devotion highlight a timeless truth: Jesus desires our hearts more than our performance. This episode invites us to slow down, sit at His feet, and let His presence reorder our priorities.

3. Judas Iscariot: When You Miss Jesus at the Heart Level

Judas’s storyline continues to unfold with tension and tragedy. His inability to grasp Jesus’ mission at a heart level leads him down a dangerous path. The episode shows how misunderstanding Jesus — or trying to fit Him into our own agenda — can have devastating consequences.

"But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care of me hath flourished again; wherein ye were also careful, but ye lacked opportunity.

Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.

Speaking4Him Podcast #718: The Sheep Detectives (2026)

"Lily: What is this?

Sebastian: This is the church, where someone named God lives.

Lily: Who's God?

Sebastian: It's a bit confusing; God is a shepherd.

Mopple: So he could be our shepherd?

Sebastian: No. Because he's also a lamb.

Lily: What?

Sebastian: And he's also invisible. And he's made of bread. And he damns things.

Lily: Dams things? Like a beaver?

Sebastian: Yes.

Lily: So God is a big invisible lamb beaver, made of... bread?

Sebastian: Yes. And they eat him on Sundays.

Mopple: Poor God."

Speaking4Him Podcast #717: Happy 250th Birthday, America!

“The Second Day of July 1776, will be the most memorable Epoch in the History of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated, by succeeding Generations, as the great anniversary Festival. It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance by solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more.”

John Adams, Second letter to Abigail Adams, July 3, 1776

On today's show, we celebrate America’s upcoming 250th birthday by reflecting on God’s faithfulness through every era of our nation’s history. From the Founding to the present day, we trace how Scripture speaks into the triumphs, trials, and turning points that shaped the United States.

We also highlight several powerful patriotic clips, including a Flag Day tribute, a bold statement of conviction, and Speaker Mike Johnson’s reflections on the Declaration of Independence. Join us as we honor America, remember our spiritual heritage, and look forward with gratitude and hope.

Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;

Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.
