In today’s episode of the Speaking4Him Podcast, I share my thoughts on The Chosen Season 4 Episode 5: “Sitting, Serving, Scheming.” This episode offers a powerful look at three very different responses to Jesus — each one challenging us to examine our own hearts.
1. The Power of Serving Beyond Expectations
We see characters who are challenged by Jesus to go the extra mile in service, not out of obligation, but out of love. Their actions remind us that true service flows from a heart transformed by Christ. When we serve others sacrificially, we reflect His character in a world that desperately needs it.
2. Mary & Martha: Giving Jesus Your Heart
The familiar story of Mary and Martha is portrayed with fresh emotional depth. Martha’s busyness and Mary’s devotion highlight a timeless truth: Jesus desires our hearts more than our performance. This episode invites us to slow down, sit at His feet, and let His presence reorder our priorities.
3. Judas Iscariot: When You Miss Jesus at the Heart Level
Judas’s storyline continues to unfold with tension and tragedy. His inability to grasp Jesus’ mission at a heart level leads him down a dangerous path. The episode shows how misunderstanding Jesus — or trying to fit Him into our own agenda — can have devastating consequences.
